Adaptive technologies are used to support learners that may suffer from a disability and therefore require software or modifications to make it accessible and useful to these learners. There are ways to accommodate individuals with a variety of differences including students who are deaf, blind, for students that are unable to use a standard keyboard and mouse, for those who suffer from eyesight impairments but are not blind, for individuals that do not have motor control, and other disabilities that hinder them from the use of a typical computer. I personally can not think of anyone that has used this technology except for maybe the magnification application in order to be able to read due to changes in eyesight and I have also utilized this aspect before. However, as for other adaptive technologies, I can not think of an occasion where these have been used. PLN

The Educator's PLN is a community created for teachers that allow members to join in chat rooms, view videos and utilize resources, as well as read user blogs. The site currently host 20,000 global educators allowing for an abundance of educators to communicate with. The Teaching Channel is a great resource for teachers as it allows them to experience and share new techniques to help not just each other but the students as well. This is also done through the use of custom videos and the connection to others within the profession. This is a free resource and is a collaborating platform.

I have previously used Twitter before in another class for a similar assignment except that we had to post a lot more than is required in this class. I have not necessarily learned anything new in my uses f Twitter that were previously unknown to me but I have learned more about education and technology. Furthermore, I find many benefits in using Twitter especially when keeping up with fellow students or an collegiate academic setting. Twitter is a fast and easy way of communication that allows a person to share things of interest especially like we do in class relating to the subjects that are important to our career as well as highlight what is important in the information that we do share. Twitter allows for people all over the world to communicate information that previously would have been unknown to others due to the lack of communication.
