For my ILP, I watch a video on Lynda.com about "Developing a Learning Mindset". The video was 31 minutes and 25 seconds long and I watched it between last night, February 27th, and this afternoon, February 28th. The video opens with an introduction consisting of two videos, welcome and what you should know. The next section is Understanding Learning and is broken down into four videos which are what is your motivation to learn?, how the brain is designed to learn, learning outside of traditional education, and skills for learning. The second section is your self-inventory which has two videos, create an inventory of what you have learned and why a love of knowledge is so important. The third section does not appear to be included in the video and therefore the last section is how to stay motivated. This section has three parts and they are how to grow as a learner, make you learning fun, and next steps in your learning journey. The learning experience consisted of learning ...

The school web page that I have chosen to look at is from Osceola Fundamental High School which teaches grades 9th to 12th. Looking through the web page I was able to get general information of what is going on in the school on an everyday basis as well as special events that they have going on. Through the About Us I was able to learn information about the school and why to choose a fundamental school as well as information about conduct that would not be tolerated. When it came to finding class pages, one some of the pages there are mission statements and core practices while others just list the teachers and their emails in order to contact them. There is also a page dedicated to Warrior Academy, which highlights the use of technology and projects that are real world applications. The website highlights programs as well as clubs and organizations that a student can join when attending the school. There is a resources page that gives information for tutoring, seniors, parents, freshm...

When it comes to Web 2.0 technologies, if it is used in a mature classroom setting for the benefit of the educational lesson, I think social media sites can be useful. Preferably technologies like Twitter and blogs would be best as opposed to Facebook or Instagram. Anything that allows for a wider communication not only to students in the direct community but in communities outside their own, allows for potential insight into different learning experiences as well as a broader education can be beneficial to the students. The only concern I can see with some of these sites that were previously mentioned like Facebook or Instagram is that they move away from a more potential educational setting and that of a social one. Therefore, that can be distracting to students and cause there to lose track of the educational purposes they are using the site for. However, there are an array of tools like Kahoot or Prezi that allow for interactions that keep the educational basis. Considering that ...

Web Evaluation-12th Grade

https://www.ixl.com/ela/grade-12 At the bottom of the website it says copyright 2018 which implies the website was created and updated recently with relevant and current information. As for links I checked several of them and they seemed to work and led to interactive work. Although it asks for a membership on top, it still allows for interaction with the material on the page. When it comes to the relevance the site is extremely easy to maneuver and organized by grade levels on the side as well as organized with each grade level on different skills that students will learn by that grade. The content makes it readable for the proper grade level and interactive to learn with. The content is not always error-free because the student is meant to acknowledge the errors they must fix. As for the actual website, it appears that it is in fact error-free. At the bottom of the website there is a link to information about the company as well as if you press the logo for IXL Learning at the bott...

In one course in particular we had to utilize Twitter within the classroom setting for our QQCs (Question, Quote, and comment) and to communicate with both the teacher and fellow classmates. Using Twitter was a requirement within the class and we had an allotted amount of times we had to post within a week in order to obtain participation credit. We had to interact with fellow classmates and comment on some of their posts on occasion. We all had to follow each other as well. Our teacher monitored our classroom Twitters and we were able to ask her questions about assignments on there as well as fulfill requirements for the class. I also followed a few accounts of some of the things we talked about within the classroom like Creative Commons which is useful for things that fall under Fair Use. Ultimately, I think that Twitter is something that has become usable within most fields. Technically with my EWM degree, Twitter would be useful because it is a great aspect of social media and a qu...

As far as the ELA standards are concerned, most of the aspects of the RL. 7 "Multimedia:" Literature I feel comfortable with. I feel that I will do well with this aspect of the standards as I have a decent understanding of technical uses in relations to written works and how to utilize technology to emphasize or clarify information. For the RI. 7 "Multimedia:" Information Text, I feel that I will do well in this category as well as I have utilized these in my own academic career. I feel the multimedia standards for History and Science are just reiterating the same information but it is just specific to that subject. History is not a strong subject for me so while the technological part will be something that I am equipped for, the actual information could always be something I can improve on. When it comes to the "Consuming" Tech Standards, as I have to use this throughout my entire college education, this will definitely be something I will be able to te...
